In the wake of conflict, Sudanese villagers seek opportunities to lead the New Sudan. In the South, many women have requested health-literacy training in order to become primary healthcare providers to their families. CDN's consultant, Natasha Birchard, conducted health-literacy training in 5 villages of the Upper Nile region. 

Working together with Dinka women, Natasha localized ProLiteracy's Good Health Begins at Home manual. They collected stories and created important cultural archives. With these tools, they later trained trainers to teach other rural women important skills for creating healthy lifestyles.
